Hiding from National Park Crowds

The first holiday of summer 2017 was a war zone in Olympic. It seems that everyone with an internet connection, had planned to go overnight hiking in Olympic National Park. It really has me thinking about how wilderness is managed, preserved and shared. Finding a balance, with old school thinking seems to be the biggest obstacle to overcome.

So a small group of friends and I headed into the backcountry for a few days, to camp in places not talked about. These fragile campsites are not talked about and will continue with that tradition. I will however share a few photographs.

I hope this inspires you to go outdoors. However, you should think about how things are preserved, why and the impact of too many people concentrated in one area. Will we find a balance?
